My Favorite Writing Books
Dixon's book is a classic. If you're new to writing, I
highly recommend starting with this book. Dixon
includes numerous examples culled from movies
and books, and her charts are very useful for
understanding plot and characterization.
Another classic- if you don't have the time or
money to take writing classes, this book and
Dixon's book will give you the knowledge you
need to understand the craft of writing.
Writing a novel is a daunting task, but Ray makes
it manageable by breaking down the process into
distinct tasks. Also, aspiring writers with hectic
schedules will find Ray's weekend approach
encouraging.
