Dear friends and family,
Thank you for subscribing to my newsletter! This past month has been tremendously exciting as I
celebrated the release of my very first publication. "The Earl's Enchantment, " a time-travel romance
featuring the Regency era, was published in April and appeared on both The Wild Rose Press and
Fictionwise bestseller lists. It is now available at The Wild Rose Press.
Congratulations to Elaine for winning "The Earl's Enchantment" contest! She won a $10 gift card to
Borders, a Jane Austen action figure, and a free copy of "The Earl's Enchantment. "
For my fellow book-lovers, you may be interested in what inspired me to set "The Earl's Enchantment" in
a castle-bookshop. I was hard at work researching various locales across the United Kingdom for my novel
when I came across an interesting article by Beatrice Sant called "Wandering Down the Wye" (Realm
Magazine, October 2006). Within the article, she briefly mentioned that Hay-on-Wye's castle was turned
into a bookshop. Being an unrepentant bibliophile, I found that fact fascinating and instantly went into
further research mode. Apparently, the entire town is devoted to books, literally millions of them, and
has over 40 bookstores. My imagination went into overdrive, and I thought how I would love to work in a
castle-bookshop and live in a town devoted to books. Hence, "The Earl's Enchantment" was born. For
further information about Hay-on-Wye, including a full listing of the bookshops, visit the official town
website at: http://www.hay- on-wye.co. uk/.
In April, I joined the Historical Romance Club and Sweeter Romantic Notions blog group, and I have an
active blog and MySpace account, so please do stop by and visit.
I hope all of you are enjoying the summer. As always, I welcome any comments or inquiries, so please feel
free to email me.
